Jo Kreiter has danced with Joanna Haigood since 1989. She has received five California Arts Council Artist-in-Residence Awards that are taught in partnership with ZACCHO, and awards from the San Francisco Arts Commission, the Gerbode Foundation, Dance USA/the Irvine Foundation and the San Francisco Hotel Tax Fund for her work as achoreographer. Inspired by her work with Joanna Haigood, Jo choreographs for both traditional and site specific venues, including an upcoming residency at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in May/June. Her company, Flyaway Productions, performs apparatus-based dances that expose the range and power of female physicality.
